Joining our Airshow friends at The Alehouse

...and an even happier Steve!?!?

...a couple of happy ducks...

A gorgeous Autumn day...

The lovely Lake Wanaka.

Well just in case you missed some of the earlier posts where I mention just how beautiful this place is I have included a couple more photos.....
We managed a quick walk to the lake on a day with clear blue skies and even clearer water and it wasn't even that cold - honest! Being Fall (or Autumn for us Brits) the trees around the lake looked amazing and even the ducks were in a good mood. (Will!!)
Later that day we took a ride into town, how happy does Steve look(?) and met our airshow friends for dinner in a fab pub over looking the water.

Bits and pieces

Jason with Murray the new head of WOW!!

... and Sir Tim Wallace, who started it all.

a little bit of pyro (crazy b#@$%*ds)

RZNAF C130 fly-by

Wingwalker Peggy getting some low level practice in!

.....and it got way more crowded than this!!

Andrew and his Foxmoth - important to get the pronounciation correct on this one and it gets harder after a few beers! He managed to fit three of us in while taxiing back into the hangar - good job he didn't need to take off as I think they might have been a few W&B issues!

Pre-airshow preparation

?????

...and finally the pub!!

En route to Queenstown.

Official shots from Gary O'Conner.
PPL obtained - check!
More shots over the lake.

Message from local farmer!

Sceinc shots of Lake Wanaka.

PPL Oral - check!

Coffee - check!

Sunrise over Wanaka.
Before the start of any airshow a lot of important preparation needs to take place...
After an early morning start, we located the best local coffee, Jason finally managed to get his PPL (NZ), allowing for more scenic shots over Wanaka, and in time for an official photoshoot.
Also us girls made a quick trip to Queenstown to pick up CAF member Young Wil and then most important of all, the location of the local pub!

Safe and Sound in Wanaka

The boys, finally able to relax after their long days flying over dinner and a beer.

Our first of many beautiful sunsets in Wanaka.

Hot tubs and pool at the Oakridge.

Andrew, Andy and Ray.

After a few more shots over the south island we arrived safely in Wanaka, thanks to our pilots Andy and Andrew, and navigator Ray. Then off to the Oakridge Hotel to check in, a really nice place to stay with a great view of the mountains.
